Dalvin Cook Ready to 'Turn it Loose' Next Season
Dalvin Cook has dominated the recent NFL news scene. The league is in a weird period between the draft and training camp where news can be slow, but Cook being released by the Minnesota Vikings has changed that.

Since being released, Cook has been able to weigh his options and decide on his next team. The former Florida State running back has made appearances on various shows and podcasts, with the most recent of those being The Adam Schefter Podcast.
The Vikings began their process of moving on from Cook in March, just one month after he successfully had surgery to repair his torn labrum. Now, Cook is feeling better than ever.
“Now it’s over, now I can be Dalvin Cook, back to Florida State Dalvin Cook, and just turn it loose," Cook said on The Adam Schefter Podcast.
Whichever team lands Cook will be more than happy to welcome the four-time Pro Bowl running back, especially if he's going to tap into his college football days. He played three seasons at Florida State, rushing for 4,464 total yards and racking up 46 touchdowns on the ground. He was a consensus All-American during his final year with the program in 2016 as well.
For many reasons, Florida State's all-time rushing leader will benefit from a move away from the Vikings. He won't have to share the running back position with Alexander Mattison, who is expected to be the Vikings' starting running back. He also gets a fresh change of scenery after plenty of time and injuries in Minnesota.
On the podcast, Cook admitted that having the shoulder injury lingering in the back of his head did impact his performance on the field, and having that off his mind will be a big benefit of the surgery.
Teams should be eager to bring in Cook, especially since he feels the strongest of his career. He's coming off his first season to start and appear in every possible game on the season, showing his ability to stay healthy as his career progresses.
Whether Cook has lost a step or not, his confidence in his health should leave teams optimistic about his ability to return to the once All-American and elite running back Florida State fans remember watching.
