Devin Vassell's promising season paused following knee surgery
Former Florida State star and current San Antonio Spur, Devin Vassell, is out with a knee injury for the foreseeable future, as ESPN Insider announced he was having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Thursday.
Vassell was in the midst of a career year as he was having more opportunity and more shots, averaging 19.4 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 3.4 APG while shooting 44% from the floor and 40% from 3. His numbers have been up across the board and he's started in most of the games he's played over his strong stretch. Vassell had been citing knee soreness and had sat out games recently against the Knicks and Mavericks.

Depending on what the procedure is specifically for, Vassell should only be out for 4-6 weeks, and maybe less. Arthroscope surgeries aren't as severe, and as long as the sutures heal properly, he really shouldn't be out for too long.
Vassell was on the greatest FSU team we've seen under Leonard Hamilton, as a part of the 2019-20 team that won the ACC, but didn't get a chance to play in March Madness due to COVID-19.
