Former Florida State National Champion, NFL Veteran Signs With Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are hoping to make a splash this year after a promising finish to the 2022 season. Head coach Dan Campbell is looking to turn the tides of a franchise that has been among the worst in the NFL over the years. Part of that job is restoring a veteran presence to uphold the standard that he wants to set in Detroit.

Earlier this month, the Lions signed veteran offensive lineman Bobby Hart off of the free agent market. Hart is joining his sixth team ahead of his ninth year at the professional level. He's coming off a two-year stint with the Buffalo Bills where he made 16 total appearances, primarily on special teams and in a reserve role.
Detroit probably isn't looking for Hart to develop into a starter with the franchise. Instead, he'll provide a veteran presence and will be able to contribute off the bench as a lineman that can play tackle or inside.
The 28-year-old was originally selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Outside of the Bills, Lions, and Giants, he's suited up for the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Tennessee Titans. Hart has appeared in 95 games during his time in the league, starting in 66 of them.
Hart played his college career at Florida State, spending four years with the Seminoles. He turned 17 prior to his first season with the program and ended up starting nine games at right tackle. Hart started 28 consecutive games from 2013-14 to conclude his team at FSU.
The Florida native started at right tackle during Florida State's run to a 2013 National Championship victory against Auburn. In total, he appeared in 47 games with the Seminoles and started in 37 of them.
