Former Florida State star running back Dalvin Cook is flying to New York and meeting with the New York Jets, according to Tom Pelissero

The former Minnesota Viking could pair up with former division rival Aaron Rodgers, who arrived with the Jets in a trade from the Green Bay Packers this offseason.

Cook has been dealing with the declining running back market first-hand and has had that as a hurdle when looking for his next team. He's also been searching for the perfect fit.

When it comes to the Jets, the pairing makes sense. Rodgers is still an electric quarterback and has an elite weapon in Garrett Wilson. The offense will be even more dynamic with Cook, who averages 107 yards per game across his career.

Cook is coming off a season, having played all 17 games, his healthiest season to date. The former Seminole himself has said that he feels the healthiest he has in his career and is ready to return to his 'Florida State playing days,' where he was an All-American and the school's all-time rushing leader.

Rodgers recently took a pay cut with the Jets, and this could signal that he wants Cook to be on board and could be playing his part in ensuring that Cook gets the appropriate contract to make the move.

For running backs as a whole, this would be a positive sign. The Vikings released Cook, but to see a player who is coming off four straight Pro Bowl selections be rewarded with a good contract will be a positive sight to see.

In this situation, Cook can be paid an adequate amount for his talent while producing at a high level in hopes of a Super Bowl. The Jets, as mentioned, have an electric offensive duo backed by an elite defense. The team could shape out nicely in a solid AFC East division if the two sides come to an agreement.
