Former FSU National Champion Suffers Injury at Miami Dolphins Training Camp

Former FSU Football star Jalen Ramsey went down with injury during Miami Dolphins' training camp on Thursday.

Former Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey has suffered a lower-body injury at the Miami Dolphins training camp, according to Adam Beasley. Ramsey was reportedly carted off the field.

Ramsey was taking part in an 11-on-11 drill before going down with the injury. He was treated on the field before being escorted to the locker room. Ramsey was reportedly grabbing the backside of his left knee.

Jevon Holland, with the help of Xavier Howard and head coach Mike McDaniel, came to Ramey's aid following the injury. Other trainers treated Ramsey for a few minutes while he was on the ground.

“You know, everybody’s worried about him,” Holland said after practice... I’m not really sure what’s wrong.”

The Dolphins acquired the 28-year-old defensive back from the Los Angeles Rams this offseason after trading a third-round pick. Ramsey, entering his eighth season in the NFL, has three years remaining on his deal.

Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou emphasized that “He’s gonna be good.” as reported by media close to the situation.

Ramsey brings a history of winning at the highest level to the Dolphins, as he won a Super Bowl with the Rams and a National Championship with the Seminoles.

So far, Ramsey had been a standout in training camp, too, as he was one of the biggest acquisitions for the team. They're gearing up for a playoff run in a loaded AFC East. He is expected to play a pivotal role when the Dolphins face off against quarterbacks like Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen and New York Jets' Aaron Rodgers.

Ramsey made an instant impact in his freshman season at Florida State, the year that the team won the National Championship. He had 49 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one interception on the season. He was a consensus All-American in his final collegiate year.

McDaniel is expected to meet with the media ahead of Friday's practice, so more insight on the injury may follow.
