Florida State's victory against formerly top-5-ranked LSU was monumental for the program in more ways than one. Not only did the 45-24 beatdown announce to the country that the Seminoles are on their way back to the top of college football, but it also provided some useful ammunition for alumni.

Leading up to the matchup, FSU legend and 2013 national champion, Jalen Ramsey, made a bet with one of his Miami Dolphins teammates, linebacker Duke Riley, on the game. Riley is entering his eighth year in the NFL but spent his college career at LSU from 2013-16. He became a starter during his final season with the program, recording 93 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and an interception.

In the days following Florida State's decimation of LSU, Riley was spotted wearing garnet and gold in Miami's locker room. He ended up giving Ramsey a shoutout while paying respect to the Seminoles.

"Well, well, you know, we can't pay, it's illegal to bet now in the NFL. There's different ways that you can kind of make gentlemen's bets with merchandise," Riley said according to Mike Cugno of CBS News Miami. "Shout out to Jalen, this Florida State kind of gave us a little whooping but you know it's first game of the season I can't be mad at it so I'm over here repping Florida State right now."

Riley even noted that he saw the footage of Florida State breaking the rock after the game. Wide receiver Keon Coleman swung the sledgehammer for the Seminoles after scoring three touchdowns in his debut with the program.

"I seen them break the uh.... [rock]," Riley said. "That was kind of cool though, I can't lie."

The former third-round pick also called out fellow linebacker Jaelan Phillips, who was close by during the interview. Phillips played his college ball at the University of Miami. The Hurricanes will travel to Tallahassee in November.

"His time coming," Riley said with a laugh

Ramsey is entering his eighth year in the NFL after being traded to the Miami Dolphins but he always makes sure to rep the Seminoles. He was a member of the 2013 National Championship team at Florida State and totaled 181 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, 22 pass deflections, and three interceptions in Tallahassee.
