Florida State isn't going to produce a first round pick this year but the program is still expected to continue its 39-year streak of sending at least one prospect to the NFL level.
A couple of the draft-eligible players out of Tallahassee include safety Jammie Robinson, defensive tackle Robert Cooper, guard Dillan Gibbons, wide receiver Ontaria Wilson, tackle Jazston Turnetine, tight end Cam McDonald, defensive end Leonard Warner, safety Jarques McClellion and tight end Wyatt Rector.
Following a standout performance at the Reese's Senior Bowl, Robinson is in the best position on the group to be selected in the draft.
According to a recent mock draft by NFL.com's Chad Reuter, Robinson's stock is on the rise. In his first three-round mock of the year, Reuter projected the former Seminole star to be selected with the final pick in the second-round, No. 63 overall, by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII earlier this month.
At this point, the team is projected to enter free agency and the draft with only two safeties under contract. As a championship contender, acquiring elite, cost-controlled young talent is going to be crucial for the Chiefs to keep making runs under Patrick Mahomes over the next decade.
Investing in Robinson could pay off for the franchise in more ways than one.
The Georgia native was named safety practice player of the week during his time at the Senior Bowl. He started at safety in the exhibition game, recording three total tackles and making a big play on special teams to pin a punt inside the five.
During his two years with the Seminoles after transferring from South Carolina, Robinson totaled 183 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, one sack, eight pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions in 25 appearances. He concluded his college career as a back-to-back First-Team All-ACC selection at safety.
The 2023 NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, April 29.
