2026 ATH Jonah Winston, Brother of Jameis Winston, Sets Return Visit To Florida State
Florida State is preparing to host 65+ recruits this weekend for its final recruiting event of the summer. The majority of the focus will revolve around prospects in future classes that the coaching staff wants to continue to evaluate.

Earlier this year, the Seminoles extended a scholarship offer to 2026 athlete Jonah Winston. The legacy recruit informed NoleGameday that he'll be back in Tallahassee on Saturday for another visit to FSU. He was previously on campus in March for the Seminole Legacy weekend which culminated with him earning an offer from head coach Mike Norvell.
The moment stuck with Winston because he was able to have his entire family, including his dad, Antonor, and brother, Jameis, alongside him in Norvell's office.
"It was great. First of all, the way that coach Norvell offered me, having my brother there and my nephews and everything, that was very special to me," Winston said to NoleGameday previously. "When I went there, met Jermaine, it just felt like back home, felt good. Finally got some good weather because Birmingham has been very cold. It was just a great experience."
The Winston name obviously has a big legacy at Florida State. Jameis Winston spent three years in Tallahassee, guiding the Seminoles to a 26-1 record over 2013-14 that included a national championship, playoff appearance, and the third Heisman Trophy in program history.
Following in his footsteps won't be easy. At the same time, he's set the path to success that the younger Winston can take tips from as he progresses on his own journey.
"It's a very big deal. He already made the valley for me so all I have to do is follow that but there's still going to be bumps in the road along the way," Winston said. "Just working on trying to make a name for myself and getting out of his shadow and I feel like I'm starting to get there."
Winston is preparing for his sophomore season at Hoover High School after contributing across the offense last year. He became the first ninth grader to start a game for the Buccaneers at quarterback in 2022. Winston appeared in eight games, completing 5/8 passes for 39 yards while rushing 12 times for 56 yards and two scores and catching 12 passes for 127 yards with another touchdown.
Hoover High School finished 11-2 and made a run to the semi-finals of the state playoffs. Winston is looking for more this upcoming season.
His visit to Tallahassee this weekend will be his third as a recruit. Outside of his trip in March, he also checked out Florida State last summer for an individual camp where he threw in front of quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz.
The Alabama native visited Auburn in March. Winston holds offers from the Seminoles, Tigers, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Colorado, Marshall, and Troy with three years to play at the high school level.
The 5-foot-10, 150-pound athlete has yet to be ranked in the 2026 class according to 247Sports.
