BREAKING: Florida State Loses Top Commitment To Flip To Georgia Bulldogs
There was always a feeling that Florida State would have to fight to hold on to five-star safety KJ Bolden when he announced his commitment to the program in August. After all, in this day and age of the sport, things can often become unpredictable down the stretch of the Early Signing Period.
Bolden put all of the questions to rest when he chose to flip from the Seminoles and sign with the Georgia Bulldogs on Wednesday. Despite hosting him in Tallahassee for an official visit over the weekend, Florida State once again lost its top recruit to a signing day shocker.
It's only been two years since the program saw five-star cornerback Travis Hunter make a historic flip to Jackson State. Now, they lose out on the No. 1 overall recruit in the country despite holding his pledge for over four months.
This is a big loss for the Seminoles in what was expected to be one of the top defensive backfield classes in program history. Florida State still has five-star Charles Lester, four-star Jamari Howard, four-star Cai Bates, and four-star Ricky Knight III in the fold in Tribe24.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back is regarded as the No. 14 overall prospect, the No. 1 S, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
As of now, Florida State holds 22 commitments in its 2024 class, which ranks No. 6 overall in the country according to 247Sports.
