Florida State pushing to flip Five-Star LB Jadon Perlotte from Georgia pledge
The Moore Center was buzzing all Saturday morning as the Florida State Seminoles hosted numerous top-tier recruits during Seminole Legacy recruiting weekend. Composite Five-Star Linebacker and Georgia Bulldogs commit Jaden Perlotte was one of those players in attendance and he spoke with NoleGameday to recap his visit with the staff.

This weekend was crucial on the recruiting front as top prospects from around the country made their way to Tallahassee. Perlotte arrived on Friday evening for his first-ever visit to Florida State.
"We walked around, I talked to coach Norvell for like an hour. He wants me just to play defense and play all the way around the field and just help the team win a championship," Perlotte said to NoleGameday's Tommy Mire. "They've been recruiting me the hardest ever since 8th grade coming into high school not even playing in a game; they've always been texting my phone and making sure I got here. It's the first time I got here and I'm gonna be back."
Former players such as New York Jets defensive end Jermaine Johnson II and New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston were in attendance to help with recruiting. Recruits watched as Johnson had a brick unveiled in his honor for being named an All-American in 2021.
"They've both been through the process, so I really paid close attention to that. Jameis Winston, we talked a lot, and he gave a good speech," Perlotte said. "He's been here, and he's a Heisman winner, and I just wanted to listen to somebody who's been through it. He just told me how this is a traditional place and that if you want to be great, then come here."
One of the things that stood out to him over the weekend was the energy Norvell brings to the team and the intensity of practice.
"I ain't never seen anything like it. It's always high energy," Perlotte said. "Coach Norvell, I always hear him yelling. He's always high energy, and I want a coach like that."
Florida State is pushing to flip Perlotte from a commitment that he made to Georgia in December. The Seminoles made an impression during his first trip to campus.
"It's on the top of my mind," Perlotte said. "If I pick any other decision, Florida State would be the place."
Perlotte will be down in Orlando in September to watch Florida State kick off its season against LSU. He's looking to get back to Tallahassee later in the spring as well.
"I'm definitely going to be back here when they play LSU," Perlotte said. "I want to see that game. I'm gonna be down there. It's in Orlando, so I'm gonna be back here."
Outside of FSU, Perlotte will visit Georgia, Alabama, and Oregon during the offseason.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker is regarded as the No. 32 overall prospect, the No. 4 LB, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
