Four-Star FSU QB Commit Luke Kromenhoek Excited To Welcome Charles Lester To #Tribe24

Kromenhoek made the seven-hour trek from Savannah to Sarasota to support Lester on Friday night.

Surrounded by his family, friends, and community, Friday night was one to remember for five-star cornerback Charles Lester III as he committed to Florida State.

There was also a special guest in attendance for the ceremony, four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, who was more than excited to welcome Lester to #Tribe24 after making the seven-hour trek from Savannah to Sarasota.

The two prospects developed a relationship throughout their respective recruitments and Kromenhoek wanted to show his support for the top athlete.

"I've had a close relationship with Charles ever since we met at Florida State. We've just bonded and he's a great person, everyone around him are great people," Kromenhoek said to NoleGameday on Friday night after Lester committed. "I feel like as the leader of this class, the Tribe24 class, the quarterback, I feel like it's kind of my duty to show up for the guys. We're all one big family so we're all going to be there to support each other and that's kind of why I decided to come."

Kromenhoek believes that Lester is a perfect fit for the class that the Seminoles are building and it's not just because of what he does between the lines.

"It's huge. To get this type of dude in our class, I mean it's going to boost us in the rankings so much. Just him as a person off the field, not even on the field," Kromehoek said. "We all know he's a great athlete on the field, he can do whatever you want him to do but just off the field he's a great person. He wants to come in and work hard and just grind it out. He doesn't want anything given to him he wants to work for it. He fits this Tribe24 class real well and we're excited for him to be a part of it."

The Georgia native was even included in the festivities. After his announcement, Lester brought Kromenhoek up on stage and the two chopped it up. Kromenhoek thought that moment said a lot about the type of person Lester is.

"It just shows so much about him and how he's all in on this Florida State class," Kromenhoek said. It shows that we're a tight-knit family and we want each other to be there for each other. We want to succeed together. For him to have me come on that stage for his day and a big part of his life, it shows so much about him and his family."

Though he's expected to play primarily on the defensive side of the ball at the next level, Lester has also teased the possibility of getting involved on offense. That's something that Kromenhoek is pushing for as well.

"So excited," Kromenhoek said. "He came to me and we were talking and he was like 'hey man, you know I can play receiver' and I was like, 'trust me dude, I know'. Right after that, I went and talked to coach Tokarz and I was like 'hey, we need to get him on some offense too' and he was all about it. It's going to be fun to have him going both ways and he's just an unbelievable athlete."

Florida State has landed nine commitments throughout July, including the additions of Lester and four-star offensive tackle Manasse Itete over the last 24 hours. Kromenhoek is hoping that the Seminoles have more good news coming on the horizon with five-star safety KJ Bolden set to announce next weekend.

"It's been a huge week for this class. We're getting the dudes that we want, dudes that we feel are going to be able to come in and help us," Kromenhoek said. "I'm just feeling real, real good about this Tribe24 class, this month was unbelievable, I think it's eight commits now [nine after Itete on Saturday]. We're just climbing up those rankings and we've got a couple more surprises up our sleeve hopefully and feeling good about the future of this class."

The Seminoles have the No. 7 recruiting class in the country with 19 verbal commitments.

As a junior, Kromenhoek led Benedictine High School to the Georgia 4A State Championship during his first season as a starter. He completed 171/263 passes (65%) for 2,576 yards with 24 touchdowns to three interceptions while rushing 139 times for 453 yards and seven more scores.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound quarterback is regarded as the No. 33 overall prospect, the No. 3 QB, and the No. 7 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
