Promising OT Ziyare Addison recaps latest trip to Florida State for Junior Day

The Seminoles are standing out the most for Addison early in his recruitment.

Florida State became the first program to join promising offensive tackle Ziyare Addison's recruitment last summer. The coaching staff watched Addison work out at a camp and the rest was history.

Since then, FSU has continued to build a relationship with the rising junior. Over the weekend, he returned to campus to spend time in Tallahassee during Junior Day. He enjoyed his time around the coaching staff while learning more about the program.

"It's just been a great time, The more I keep coming, the better every time," Addison said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "Every time I keep coming back to the campus, it's just a blessing to be in this spot right here."

"Basically the same impression I had of them last time," Addison continued. "Really good people. FSU has a special place in my heart because this is the first school to offer me."

The Florida native spent most of the visit around senior offensive analyst Gabe Fertitta and graduate assistant Cooper Williams, who both work with the offensive line. He was also able to have a conversation with head coach Mike Norvell. Addison said that Norvell stressed for him to stay on track and keep working.

"It's been great. It's been growing," Addison said. "I feel like I'm getting closer to the coaches every time I come here. I love the culture here, what they're building here. I really, really love the culture, it's family oriented, it's really what I'm looking for in a program."

While he hasn't yet been to Florida State to witness a game in person, Addison was impressed by the performance of the offensive line last season. Another thing that has caught his attention is how the players operate off the field.

"I seen the offensive line. I seen that they only allowed one sack a game, that really intrigued me but what really most intrigued me today is they had, if I'm not mistaken, over 60 people with over a 3.0 GPA as well as being a top-10 team," Addison said. "I haven't seen that from another school. It really intrigued me because what I make sure to keep first is my grades. It's good to be good on the field but if you don't have the grades you're not going anywhere. I want to be successful not only on the field but off the field as well."

While it's still early in Addison's recruitment, the Seminoles stand out the most at this time.

"Right now, it stands out the most," Addison said. "They're always going to have a special place in my heart because they're really the first ones to open up my recruiting process."

Addison plans to return to Florida State whenever he's invited back by the staff. He has a visit scheduled to USC and some other schools that are on his mind right now include Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Miami, and USF.

The 6-foot-4, 267-pound offensive tackle has not yet been ranked in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
