Recruits React To Florida State's 5-0 Start, Victory Against Virginia Tech

What did recruits think about the Seminoles defeating the Hokies and continuing to stay undefeated on the season?

Florida State came out of the BYE week with a decisive victory against Virginia Tech in Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles were in a position to run away with the game early on after building a 22-0 lead but the Hokies fought back to make it a competitive contest. After tightening up down the stretch, head coach Mike Norvell guided the program to its first 5-0 start since 2015.

With this being a nationally televised contest, there were a ton of recruits watching around the country and in the stands.

2025 Four-Star Running Back Taevion Swint (UCF Commit): "GO NOLES!"

2025 Four-Star Wide Receiver Koby Howard: "Great win against a below-average opponent. FSU started off strong but went into a lull in the second quarter. Picked it back up in the third to put Tech away for good."

2025 Tight End Hayden Bradley: "Another good team win! Noles on top of the [world]. #gonoles"

2025 Four-Star OL Mario Nash: "I liked the game and the atmosphere, Florida State came out strong in the first and that kind of set the tone for the rest of the game, and after halftime, the O line and the run game put it away."

2025 Four-Star OL Ziyare Addison: "The offensive line took a big step forward this game in the run blocking standpoint. Not too much pressure for Jordan Travis either as they were good in pass pro as well. The environment was great and Atkins and his group showed great hospitality for me and my family. Glad I came back here for a game. Go noles."

Four-Star Athlete KingJoseph Edwards: "They did what needed to be done. Verse shutting down the Hokies offense and Benson turning up with what 150 + yards on offense was [fire emoji]."

2025 Three-Star Defensive End Tylon Lee: "FSU was all gas no breaks and wanted it more so they went out there and got the job done and I love the way they competed on both sides of the ball."

Three-Star Defensive Tackle Jamorie Flagg (FSU Commit): "I love what coach Norvell have done with this program, the way he turned it around and now being 5-0 when everyone doubted him. It just shows the love he has for the game and him trusting and believing in his guys.  The sky is the limit for this team. I can’t wait to come join and be a part of something special."

2025 Four-Star Linebacker Jadon Perlotte: "Easy!!! On to the next."

Three-Star Defensive Back Chalil Cummings: "Big-time players make big-time plays and FSU definitely showed that They have some dawgs!"

2025 Four-Star Defensive Back Devin Williams: "Florida State defensive backs are looking very dominant on the backend only allowing a couple of completions. The offense has had no trouble finding the end zone with their electric running backs and receivers. FSU is looking really good."

2026 Five-Star Defensive Back Zechariah Fort: "I expected nothing less from the 'Noles to come in and dominate throughout the whole game!"

Three-Star Kicker Jake Weinberg (FSU Commit): "It was loud in Doak and it was exciting to come watch the game in person!"
