Three-Star Wide Receiver No Longer Considered Member Of Florida State's 2025 Recruiting Class

The Seminoles have parted ways with a prospect who was previously committed to #Tribe25.

Florida State's coaching staff is coming off another successful weekend after adding two commitments (Armondo Blount, Ethan Pritchard) in two different classes (2024, 2025). The Seminoles have continued to recruit at a high level as the consistency on the field has risen coupled with an expanding recruiting staff over the last two seasons.

On Monday afternoon, three-star wide receiver DL Hardison announced that he was backing off of his pledge to Florida State with a message on social media. NoleGameday was informed that the Seminoles and the 2025 prospect parted ways a while ago.

"I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me through my recruiting process so far. This was a very hard decision to make but after talks with my family and my coaches, I now want to say I am opening up my recruitment and decommitting from Florida State. Thank you."

Hardison originally committed to Florida State on October 26, 2022. At the time, he was the first member of #Tribe25, something that meant a lot to the Florida native.

"It means a lot to me," Hardison said to NoleGameday previously. "I know I'm a beast and for me to be the first person in the class, I know once I get there I got to show out."

Since then, the Seminoles have added pledges from four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard in a 2025 class that ranks No. 19 in the country.

Hardison was sidelined due to a heart issue for the first part of his junior season. He's played in the last two games while recording 12 catches for 208 yards and two touchdowns for Eau Gallie High School.

The 5-foot-9, 150-pound wide receiver is ranked as the No. 369 overall prospect, the No. 52 WR, and the No. 54 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
