Isaiah Gibson Commits to USC Trojans over Georgia Football
Georgia loses out on yet another premier in-state defensive lineman as Isaiah Gibson announced today he would be committing to the USC Trojans.
The state of Georgia has always produced an elite crop of in-state products for the University of Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart. Granted, they've become a national name brand on the recruiting trail, landing starting players on the 2024 Georgia roster from Rhode Island, to Florida, to California. There's plenty of diversity among the roster, but there's a stronghold on the state of Georgia. Or at least there usually is, Georgia has done a great job locking up the state.
However, there's been a recent development as not only has an in-state prospect and former commit Justus Terry now de-committed from the Bulldogs and flipped to USC, but in-state star Isiaiah Gibson has announced that he is committing to the USC Trojans as well.
Lincoln Riley experienced quite a bit of turbulence in the recent Trojans' season for his complete lack of defense, forcing him to make drastic changes on his defensive coaching staff. One of the offseason hires was co-defensive line coach Eric Henderson who spent the last several years on staff with the Los Angeles Rams and his relationship with Aaron Donald appears to be his claim to fame.
