Georgia Football News Roundup - What Happened in March for the Bulldogs

As April begins, we recap the month of March and all of the Georgia Football News it brought with it here on the round up.

March is a vital offseason month for the majority of college football teams. With spring practice typically falling somewhere in the midst of this month, most learn plenty about their favorite team during this month on the field. Though there have been plenty of newsworthy topics and storylines in the Georgia news reporting field this last month.

Georgia Football News Round up - March

A Pair of Future Dawgs from the Volunteer State
Georgia received two commitments in the month of March and they were within 24 hours of one another from the Volunteer state as 2025 DT Stephon Shivers announced he'd be committing to Georgia and 2026 QB Jared Curtis committed to the Bulldogs as well. Shivers is a 6'5, 340 pound potential nose tackle that's highlight tape features a 75-yard touchdown run — you read that correctly. Curtis is the No. 1 ranked QB in the 2026 class and will likely continue to be heavily recruited by some of the nation's best programs.

Trevor Etienne Arrested
Any time a Georgia football player finds themselves in trouble with the Athens Clarke County police department, it's going to make front-page headlines for an extended period. Etienne has been punished by the team internally. Additionally, he will have to go through the disciplinary process the University has as well. Etienne did not participate in the first scrimmage of the spring either, according to sources, seemingly as punishment for the arrest.

Georgia Loses Two In-State Five Stars to USC
Arguably the biggest shocker of the month of March game when five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry announced he would be flipping his commitment to USC, followed quickly by the commitment of fellow Peach-State five star Isaiah Gibson to the Trojans as well. It's still extremely early in the 2025 recruiting process and Georgia still feels confident they have a chance to gain potentially both of them in the 2025 class. However, it was an unexpected turn of events for the recruiting dynamo.
