Halftime Report: Georgia in a Battle with In-State Rival
The Georgia Bulldogs are halfway through their battle with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in this year's edition of "Clean, Old Fashioned Hate". While the first half has been anything but smooth, the Dawgs do find themselves with a 21-13 lead. Here is how things have shaken out so far.
First Quarter:
The Bulldogs were again forced to play from behind after a Daijun Edwards fumble led to an eventual Haynes King rushing touchdown to put the Jackets up 7-0. The Bulldogs responded by marching down the field for a touchdown to tie the game up 7-7. The Jackets would then march down the field, only to be held to a field goal to take the lead 10-7.
Second Quarter:
Georgia opened up the second quarter with a strong drive to take the lead and would then hold the Jackets to a field goal to make the score 14-13. Another red zone score, this time from running back Daijun Edwards would extend the Dawgs' lead 21-13 with just a minute left in the quarter. Tech would utilize that minute to march down the field for a last-second field goal attempt that would hook left.
It hasn't been a pretty half for the Dawgs, but they will have an excellent chance to assert their dominance in the final 30 minutes of the game. Stay tuned for the final 30 minutes of "Clean, Old Fashioned Hate".
