Javon Bullard Voted "Top Senior Bowl DS" by Peers
One of the best events to help senior college football players attain their goals of being in the NFL is the Senior Bowl. This year's group is a bit different, though, because junior players are now allowed to join the squad and participate after previously not being allowed to.
One of the juniors who took advantage of this is the Georgia Bulldogs safety, Javon Bullard. He had an exceptional week of practice for the American Team alongside Tykee Smith, Ladd McConkey, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and William Mote, so much so that his peers voted him the top deep safety from this week's practice.
Bullard had a major task this week, covering tight ends, wide receiver threats, and running backs, but the voting came from his wide receiver and running back teammates on the American Team. One of Georgia's flashiest players on the defensive side of the ball started his career at safety. He then played STAR, aka slot cornerback, but moved back to safety this season and put on tape why he could be a valuable piece to any NFL team who drafts him.
Earning praise like this from your teammates, who all have the capability of becoming an NFL player, is a good notion of what may come for the junior. Bullard will be back on the field tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. EST on NFL Network when he and the American Team take on the National Team, home of Michael Penix Jr., Bo Nix, and Roman Wilson, a game that is sure to have plenty of NFL scouts in attendance.
