2024 LB Joseph Phillips Commits To Auburn Over Georgia

The nation's No. 10 linebacker, Joseph Phillips, announces where he will be playing college football.

A product of Alabama, 2024 LB Joseph Phillips announced where he would play college football this afternoon. The No. 8 rated player from Bama, Phillips, announced he will continue to play for Auburn University, choosing the Tigers over the likes of Georgia, Tennessee and more.

The No. 10 rated linebacker nationally and No. 8 player in Alabama, Phillips was recently on an official visit to Georgia. Official visits have been exciting amongst the Georgia program, landing three commitments from Justin Greene, Jordan Thomas, and Chauncey Bowens in the last two weeks.

June has brought loads of good news for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, but it isn't often when the Dawgs miss on a linebacker prospect. Unfortunately, in this case, Auburn and newly hired head coach Hugh Freeze was able to be out Smart and his staff for this talented prospect.

Demarcus Riddick is the lone-standing LB commit for the Dawgs currently, but Smart and his staff will likely try adding a few more commits to the linebacking core for the '24 class. For now, they will have to wait their turn to snag the next recruit.
