Bear Alexander Says he Believes USC Defense is as Physical as Georgia’s
Since Kirby Smart’s arrival in 2016, the Georgia Bulldogs have had one of the most physical defenses in all of college football. Helping the Dawgs win ack to back national championships and boasting an impressive seven first round draft picks in the past two years, the Dawgs defense is seemingly unmatched.
However, there is one player who thinks that there is another defense comparable to Georgia’s. Defensive tackle Bear Alexander stated in an interview earlier this week that he feels USC’s physicality is equal to Georgia’s
“Lincoln [Riley] and Kirby [Smart] are very similar. They’ve both got the same goals and same expectations so it’s very similar
-Bear Alexander
Alexander played for the Bulldogs as a freshman during the 2022 national championship season, where he turned in a breakout performance during Georgia’s 65-7 victory over TCU in the national title game.
Heading into the 2023 season, it seemed that Alexander was poised to become the next star player of Georgia’s defensive line. However, the sophomore elected to enter the transfer portal and join Lincoln Riley and reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams at USC.
