Today's Damn Good Dawg, Boss Bailey
Boss Bailey was one of three Bailey brothers (Champ & Ronald) to play at The University of Georgia. He was the leader of the defense on UGA's 2002 SEC Championship team.
Boss is most famously known for his ability to block field goals, one of the many perks of a 45" vertical. He experienced a bit of turnover in his career at UGA. He was recruited and played for Coach Jim Donnan and was a pivotal leader under new Coach Richt.
Boss Bailey speaks about that change from Donnan to Richt in Tony Barnhart's book "Always A Bulldog", Boss reminisces on the first days under Coach Richt. He vividly remembers those beloved Mat Drills and the importance of "Finishing the Drill"
Bailey went on to become a second-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions in the 2003 NFL Draft. Though he didn't have the greatest NFL career (partially due to the knee injuries sustained at UGA), he is still a Damn Good Dawg!
