Chris Smith Selected by Las Vegas Raiders
Another class of former Bulldogs are making their long-time dreams of playing in the NFL a reality this weekend during the draft, and the most recent to do so is Christopher Smith as the Las Vegas Raiders have selected him as the in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Smith played five seasons at the University of Georgia, and during that time he racked up 132 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and six interceptions throughout his career. Smith's best season came during the 2022 season when he accumulated 61 total tackles, five tackles for loss, three interceptions, and was a finalist for the Nagurski Award.
He was also a major contributor to both of the team's national championship victories earning an interception against the Heisman Trophy winner and now No.1 overall pick Bryce Young in the 2022 national championship.
Coming out of high school, Smith was a 4-star recruit from Atlanta, Ga who was originally recruited by the Bulldogs to play corner, but switched positions from to safety. Smith will be joining former Bulldog ____ who played for Georgia from _____
