Rece Davis Tabs Georgia as One of Few Teams He Trusts in College Football
We are three weeks into the college football season, and while there is still plenty of football left to be played, fans and spectators are starting to gain a better idea of each team's potential this season. It's still probably too soon to tell who exactly will be pushing for a playoff spot in November, but some programs are starting to separate themselves.
The Georgia Bulldogs remained on top of the rankings since the start of the season, while other teams have risen and fallen over the last few weeks. The Bulldogs are not a perfect team just a few weeks into the season, but ESPN College Gameday host Rece Davis mentioned that he trusts the Bulldogs right now on the popular sports show podcast.
"When Georgia was challenged, Georgia shifted gears and basically said, 'nope, not gonna happen,'" said Davis.
Davis went on to say that if he had to pick two teams that he currently trusts right now, it would be Georgia and Florida State. He also mentioned that he thinks the Seminoles could still be the best team in the nation despite Davis dropping them in his most recent AP poll ballot.
As stated before, there is still a lot of football to be played, but as for right now, Georgia looks to be the only team in the SEC specifically that looks poised enough to make another run at the national title. LSU and Alabama very well could be as well, but they have some work that needs to be taken care of after both programs suffered out-of-conference losses that weren't exactly pretty.
The Bulldogs kicked off conference play last weekend with a win against South Carolina at home and now prepare for their game against UAB. After that, Georgia will go on the road for the first time this season to face the Auburn Tigers, which is set to be played at 3:30 PM.
