As Kirby Smart and his staff are beginning to wrap up the 2024 recruiting class and what will seemingly be one of the greatest recruiting classes assembled if all things hold through signing days in December and February, they are also gearing towards bringing in an even better class in 2025. 4-star TE Ethan Barbour is looking to add to an already loaded tight end room, committing to Georgia Football over South Carolina, Ohio State, Alabama, and Auburn.

The lengthy 6' 3" 235 lb. tight end comes by way of Alpharetta High School, where in a recent victory over Chattahoochee High School, Barbour hauled in 211 receiving yards and four touchdowns on just six catches within the first half alone. The athletic tight end was featured in an episode on Dawgs Daily's Brooks Austin's "Friday Night Mic'd Up" series on The Film Guy Network when Barbour and Alpharetta took on a very talented Milton High School in their annual rivalry.

The TE room for the 2025 class is shaping up to be better than one they have ever had under Todd Hartley. When Todd Hartley took over the TE room in 2019 to the 2023 class, he recruited six tight ends ranked within the top ten by 247Sports at tight end and five within the top five. Currently, he has the No. 4 TE in the 2024 class and the No. 1 and No. 4 tight ends in the '25 class.

2025 TE, Ethan Barbour

Barbour now makes the total of commitments in the 2025 class seven players and has five in-state commitments, which Kirby Smart has done extremely well in since taking over the Georgia program. Georgia also currently has the number one overall recruiting class for the 2025 cycle and is followed by Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, and LSU.

Alpharetta's tight end's coach, Brad Johnson, had this to say about the star junior tight end's success thus far:

"The film doesn't lie. Ethan is an elite high school football player that will one day play in the NFL, in my opinion. I don't think there is a better receiving TE in the 2025 class. He is so good at receiving that I think his blocking gets overlooked. He will do just fine blocking DE's and LB's in college. He works on his blocking every day and takes just as much pride at being an elite blocker as he does pass catcher. I would like to add something that you can't see on film. What makes Ethan so special has everything to do with what he does off the field more so than what he does on it. Ethan is just as an elite student in the classroom. Ethan is an extremely self-disciplined young man that is intentional with everything he does. Barbour has great character and displays values that you see come from great leaders. Ethan has outstanding parents that have laid the foundation for his future success. The last thing I will add is this - when my daughters start dating, I'll count my blessings if they bring a young man into my home like Ethan Barbour. As a father, I think that's the best compliment I could give another man. It's an honor to coach him!"

- Very Respectfully, Brad Johnson
