Final Score Predictions for Georgia Football vs Tennessee

Georgia is set to travel to Knoxville on Saturday to face rival Tennessee in a top-20 matchup. The Dawgs Daily staff is here with their final predictions for the game between the Bulldogs and Volunteers.

Coming off of a decisive 52-17 victory over Ole Miss that catapulted it to the No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playing rankings, Georgia heads to Knoxville this weekend to square off against No. 18 Tennessee who will be looking to exact revenge for last season’s 27-13 defeat in Athens. Tennessee’s loss to Missouri a week ago clinched Georgia’s third-consecutive SEC Eastern Division title, but the Bulldogs have greater aspirations than a division title and a loss on Rocky Top could imperil their College Football Playoff goals. The Bulldogs enter the game as the 10-point road favorite as they attempt to extend the nation's longest current winning streak to 28 games.

The game will kick off at 3:30 PM ET and will be broadcast on CBS.

Georgia has had no issue putting up points this season, so much so, that scoring 31 points might seem like an off day for the Bulldogs. However, I believe that this will be a game when the Bulldogs secure a multiple-score lead, they will start squatting on the football and eating clock. One of the best ways to contain a fast-paced offense like Tennessee's is to keep the ball out of their hands while also wearing down the defense and forcing them to stay on the field. I think Georgia's secondary is going to create some issues for Joe Milton and the Tennessee passing attack, while Mike Bobo and the offense continue to succeed on offense. Dawgs roll and keep their impressive win streak alive on Saturday.

Georgia will likely be walking into one of the most hostile road environments that it has faced in the Kirby Smart era, but I believe the Bulldogs are up for the challenge. Georgia clinched a trip to the SEC Championship game a week ago and is reaching the end of a brutal final stretch of its SEC schedule, so there is always the possibility that the team will come out flat. However, with the postseason just around the corner along with all the talk about the horrors of playing in Neyland Stadium, I expect Kirby Smart to once again have his team motivated and prepared to play with a strong sense of urgency. On the field, this game will come down to play along the lines of scrimmage. Georgia has been one of the few teams that has been able to stifle the Tennessee ground game with even numbers and while it is not as dominant against the run this season, Georgia still boasts the best run defense Tennessee has faced. For the third consecutive season, Georgia will hold the Tennessee ground game in check and force the Volunteers to rely on a passing game that simply lacks the personnel and punch it enjoyed a year ago. In a raucous road environment, Mike Bobo will take shots early in an effort to jump out to a fast start and take the crowd out of the game. The Bulldogs will then lean on the run game to wear down the Tennessee defense, keep the Volunteer offense off the field, and ice the game en route to a comfortable road victory.

Christian Kirby II: Georgia 35, Tennessee 24

The Bulldogs' sample size on the road is small, but it isn't very good either. The Dawgs have had their share of struggles on the road this season and given that Neyland will likely provide the most hostile crowd of the season, it isn't crazy to say that they might struggle in this game as well. But while there is an excellent chance the Bulldogs "start slow", Georgia's roster and coaching staff will be far superior to that of Tennessee's. The Dawgs should pull away, but it might be a bigger struggle than people are thinking.

Ethan Offutt: Georgia 31, Tennessee 21

Georgia has had one of the premier scoring offenses and defenses this season. But, with multiple struggles on the road this season such as Aubrun and Vanderbilt, Neyland stadium will easily be one of the toughest atmospheres the Bulldogs will face this season. The last time the Dawgs visited Tennessee was 2021, when the Dawgs handled the Vols 41-17. Since that game, Tennessee is a much-improved team, but with a tough loss to Missouri last week the players may have given up on their season. That is likely not the case though, and I expect a close game. 31-21 I expect to be the final.
