Finals Thoughts: Georgia Edges South Carolina 24-14
It's been over 24 hours since the Bulldogs defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks, and while the game certainly did not turn out the way Bulldog fans expected it to. Georgia emerged victorious and improved to 3-0 on the season. With the game behind them, here are some final thoughts about the Bulldogs' preformance as a whole.
Daijun Edwards Will be a Necessity in the Running Game All Season
For the season's first two games, the Bulldogs running back room was extremely depleted and struggled to establish a strong running game. However, the return of Daijun Edwards proved to be a massive boost for the Bulldogs' backfield as he finished the evening with 118 yards on 20 carries and sparked a Bulldog offense that otherwise looked rather stagnant on the ground.
Bulldogs Made Plays When Mattered Most
While trailing South Carolina in the second half is not at all what anyone who dawns the red and black would want. It did give the Bulldogs a chance to show their playmaking abilities when the pressure was on. The Bulldogs passed their first test with flying colors as they scored 21 unanswered points in the second half of the game and made some massive plays down the stretch.
Javon Bullard's Absence was Noticeable on Defense
Though, allowing just 14 points and snagging two interceptions is a great defensive preformance all things considered. Javon Bullard's absence on defense was quite noticeable a handful of times throughout the day. Without Bullard, the Bulldogs' defense gave up 256 passing yards and missed a handful of tackles as well. Hopefully, the Bulldogs' star safety can make his return this Saturday against UAB.
