Georgia Basketball To Play In 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship, per report

The Bulldogs will be in the Bahamas next season, as they plan to play in the 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship tournament, joining some elite programs.

Mike White and his Georgia Basketball program will play in the 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship tournament this coming season, according to SicEmDawgs.com. The Bulldogs will be joining Miami, Kansas State, and Providence.

This is more exciting news for the Bulldogs basketball program; following multiple huge commitments to the program over the last couple of weeks, the Dawgs are steadily improving under White. Last season, White led his team to a .500 record of 16-16. When facing opponents who made the NCAA March Madness tournament, the Dawgs were 3-7, picking up wins against Auburn, Kentucky, and Mississippi State.

This year, all three of the teams in the Bahamas were a part of the NCAA March Madness tournament this past season. Kentucky knocked Providence out in the first round, but Kansas St. made it to the Elite Eight and Miami to the Final Four. This will be a true test for Mike White and his revamped Bulldogs program, facing off against some elite programs.

The Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship tournament is held annually and is hosted in Nassau, Bahamas. Last year, the tournament held UCF, Santa Clara, DePaul, and Oklahoma State for the tournament. The tournament will last three days, from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19. The bracket works this way; the four teams will play one game in the tournament's opening round. The losers of those two games will face off for a "Third Place game," while the winners will face off for the championship on the tournament's final day.

Capping off his first year as head coach with a 10-win improvement for the Dawgs record, Mike White hopes to leave the Bahamas with a piece of hardware against some of the nation's best programs.
