College football is entering a crucial point in the offseason when it comes to recruiting. Spring practice for college programs is wrapped up while high schools across the nation are starting to get back out on the field which is a great opportunity for coaches to get out on the trail to get a look at some potential prospects.

When it comes to the 2024 recruiting class, the Bulldogs are already off to a hot start. They currently have 11 total commits and a top-three class in the nation. Head coach Kirby Smart and his staff have been getting after like they always do as there are still some huge names in the class that remain uncommitted. With that said, it seems as if Georgia could potentially receive some massive news on the trail here soon according to a former NFL quarterback. Specifically pertaining to the no. 1 rated recruit in the entire class, quarterback Dylan Raiola.

So how does this link back to Raiola you might ask? Well, for starters, Dan Orlovsky once played for the Detroit Lions during his 12 years in the professional football league, and at one point in time, Raiola's dad was a teammate of his. Dominic Raiola played center for the Lions from 2001-2014. Orlovsky was a quarterback in Detroit from 2005-2008.

Also, prior to the former NFL quarterback editing the tweet, Orlovsky had stated in the tweet "Most talented at the position since Stafford." Obviously, he is calling back to when Matthew Stafford played at the University of Georgia before becoming the No. 1 overall pick to none other than the Detroit Lions. A lot of former ties coming together here.

Raiola's recruiting process has been one of the most eye-catching storylines for this class as he was once committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes before he ultimately backed off of his pledge and reopened his recruitment. Since then, Georgia has asserted itself into the mix, and it looks like the Dawgs may very well come out on top of this one.
