Georgia's Offensive MVPs from G Day

Offensive standouts from Georgia's spring scrimmage on Saturday.
In this story:

We finally got our first look at Georgia's squad for the 2023 college football season, and there were several players that really stood out on both offense and defense. Some of the names come as no surprise, and others probably weren't even on anyone's radar heading into today.

Here is Georgia's offensive MVP from G Day:

Jackson Meeks, WR

Georgia proved they are running deep at wide receiver today, and one of the standouts was the third-year wideout, Jackson Meeks. He was constantly making himself open in the offense and reeled in several receptions throughout the game that hit for big plays. The Bulldogs have been looking to see who would step up on the outside at wide receiver this year, and Meeks made a strong case for him to be in that conversation today.

Meeks had an impressive 29-yard touchdown when he looked like he would be stopped around the five-yard line, but fought his way into the end zone with the help of some of his offensive teammates pushing the pile.

Carson Beck, QB

Everyone has been itching to get a look at Georgia's quarterbacks this year and the veteran in the room, Carson Beck, walked away with an impressive showing. He came out of the gates looking in complete command in the offense, showing off his arm strength, while also showing his ability to put touch on the ball and place the ball wherever he wants to on the field.

Beck ran with the first-team offensive unit in the first half, and if that was a glimpse of what fans can expect this year out of Georgia, then they will be in good hands. Beck finished today's game with 231 passing yards, completed 18 out of his 21 passing attempts and a touchdown.

Mekhi Mews, WR

Mews is one of those players that not many people probably had on their radar heading into the scrimmage today, but he certainly put his peers on notice by the way he played. Whether it was showing off his blazing speed in the return game or his ability to make an impact as a receiver, Mews was doing it all.

He may not have the stature of a typical SEC wide receiver, but even at his size, Mews stood out amongst the crowd and came away with a very impressive showing during today's scrimmage. Another testimony to just how deep Georgia is at wide receiver this season.
