Georgia Players are Staying Positive, Despite Loss to South Carolina
While the Georgia Bulldog fan base continues to mourn over the loss to South Carolina, the players are showing they're humbled and motivated for the rest of the season.
Georgia will start off the second half of the regular season with Kentucky this Saturday, and they surely can't overlook this one.
After that, the Bulldogs will have to maintain their focus for the tough November slate ahead of them.
Here's how the remaining schedule plays out:
October 19- Kentucky
October 26- Bye Week
November 2- #9 Florida (in Jacksonville)
November 9- #22 Missouri
November 16- at #11 Auburn
November 23- Texas A&M
November 30- at Georgia Tech
The remaining schedule currently features three ranked teams, which decreases Georgia's chances of winning out. However, the good news is four of the remaining six games will be in Sanford Stadium. If the Bulldogs find a way to win out, they'll have a chance to win an SEC Championship.
The Bulldogs will have to up their motivation to prepare for these games, moving forward. If Twitter is any indication, it looks like the team is more motivated than ever.
First up, Georgia defensive backs, Eric Stokes Jr. and Divaad Wilson are claiming they will "stand ten toes (down)". Stokes Jr. and Wilson have both been vital to Georgia's secondary, and a large part why Georgia is only giving up 208.3 YPG from the pass.
Defensive back, Chris Smith II stated, what should be, the theme for the rest of the 2019 Georgia Football season. The players will be able to end the pain that they, and the rest of the Bulldog nation, are feeling with a controlling win against Kentucky this weekend.
Beating the team from Gainesville might also help this case.
Other players have been pretty quiet on social media since the loss, and that might mean a change of focus is happening in the locker room.
That's not a bad thing at all.
The fact that the team has taken ownership to the loss, and is responding in media sessions and social media in an upbeat way shows the professionalism and maturity of this program.
This team is more than capable of finding the leadership to refocus, as we're already seeing go into effect.
In the coming weeks, we will see this team progress and return to the winning style of football that we are use to seeing them play. Our first look at the refocused and motivated Georgia football team will this week, at home against Kentucky.
