2024 Defensive Line Recruit Justin Greene Talks Relationship with Tray Scott and Georgia

Justin Greene, a defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class, talks about his relationship with Georgia coach Tray Scott and his thoughts on the football program in Athens.

College football programs across the nation are entering a very pivotal time for recruiting as high schools are starting up spring practices which gives college coaches a great opportunity to go out and evaluate potential prospects in the upcoming classes. Georgia's coaching staff always gets after it during this time of year as they make their rounds across the country to go and visit prospects, and defensive lineman Justin Greene is one that the Bulldogs popped in on.

Greene is currently listed as a four-star prospect and a top prospect in the state of Georgia. Greene really saw his recruitment ramp up at the beginning of the calendar year as the offers really started to roll in, including one from Georgia.

Dawgs Daily had the opportunity to catch up with Greene following one of his spring practices and one that Georgia's defensive line coach, Tray Scott, was in attendance for. The Georgia native discussed his relationship with coach Scott, his overall feelings about the University of Georgia, and a potential timetable for his recruitment.

On how his relationship with coach Scott and Georgia is going:

"It's been pretty good. They've been on me pretty heavily, you know we text back and forth. And a couple of weeks ago actually, I went out to their facility, you know break down plays, watch their game film, so I am liking it pretty much."

On the position that Georgia is looking to plug him in at:

"[Scott's] words were a big end. I think they have it set up where there is an outside linebacker on one side and then a big end on one side. He wants me to set that edge, maybe play 4i sometimes on run, but yeah, mostly five, six technique."

On a potential timeline for when a commitment announcement can be expected:

"Basically June is all of my officials where every weekend I am going to be somewhere else. And then I want to be committed mid-late July, or early August time before the season starts."

Greene went on to say that he will be taking officials to Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and South Carolina during the month of June.
