Georgia Football Team Declines White House Invitation

After winning the 2023 and 2022 national championships, the Georgia Bulldogs have declined their invitation to the White House

The Georgia Bulldogs shattered a handful of college football trends on their way to a historic national championship victory during the 2022 season. The team's latest news is no different as the Bulldogs have declined their invitation to the White House. The team stated that scheduling would be the reason for the team's absence.

"Unfortunately, the date suggested is not feasible given the student-athlete calendar and time of year... However, we are appreciative of the invitation and look forward to other opportunities for Georgia teams moving forward."

This is not the first instance where a national championship Georgia team has gone without a White House visit. After winning their first title during the 2021 season, the White House cited that fears over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic were reasons for the team's lack of invitation.

Had the Bulldogs accepted the 2023 invitation, they would have been the first national championship team to visit the White House since the LSU Tigers did so after their 42-25 victory over Clemson in the 2020 national championship.
