Georgia's Perfect Redzone Efficiency Key to 49-21 Victory Over UAB
Carson Beck and Georgia's offense came out with a statement to make in week four. A part of Kirby Smart's comments after their week three win against South Carolina was that he wanted to see his offense convert more when they are in the RedZone. Against UAB, Beck and Georgia's perfect RedZone efficiency was one of the major keys to their victory over UAB, 49-21.
Beck and the first team offense had nine total offensive drives,, and six ended in a score. Five of these six drives were in the RedZone, where the Dawgs posted three rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. On the day, Beck threw for 337 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Five of these scores came within UAB's RedZone.
Once Brock Vandagriff took out Beck, Vandgriff led the Dawgs down the field for another RedZone touchdown by way of Sevaughn Clark, who ran it in for the score, making Mike Bobo's offense six-for-six in the RedZone for the game.
Brock Bowers' spectacular performance and the Bulldogs' perfect RedZone efficiency were some of the major keys to the game, leading to Kirby Smart's record-breaking day.
