The Georgia Men's basketball team has never really seen the type of hype surrounding the program quite like it has and will this season. In just his second season as Head Coach in Athens, Georgia Coach Tom Crean turned in the 10th highest-ranked class in the 2019 cycle.

For reference, Georgia hasn't even been in the Top-35 in terms of hoops recruiting since 2011 when they signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope out of Greenville, Georgia.

So, to say expectations are a little higher than usual would be a vast understatement. Now, the majority of the given ranking for last year's class revolves around Anthony Edwards who's the highest-rated prospect ever at Georgia and currently projected as the 2nd overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft.

Today they take on the Charlotte 49ers in an exhibition up at 7:00 PM EST.

The second and final exhibition game of the 2019-2020 basketball season, Georgia defeated Valdosta State in 93-81 victory last Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum.

Considering the amount of youth on the roster, the main key for Crean and his staff is to build a level of continuity (among the starters especially) that will allow the Dawgs to be finally tuned come Tuesday, November 5th when they open the season against Western Carolina at home.

SG, Anthony Edwards

Despite a few upperclassmen in the starting rotation, Tyree Crump and Rayshaun Hammonds, 3 of the 4 leaders in minutes played last week were all true freshmen. So, though Dawg fans know, or at least expect, Anthony Edwards, to handle his business it's vital that Toumani Camara and Sahvir Wheeler get their shots up in a stress-free environment to start the season.

As a team, Georgia will need to need to improve on their three-point shooting efficiency, primarily in the second half, last week they shot 21.4% from 3-pt land in the second half. They did a good job last week of getting to the free-throw line as well but will need to shoot better than 62.5% from the charity stripe moving forward.
