Georgia Looks to Continue Dominance in "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry" on Saturday
"The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry", a game played between Auburn and Georgia is one of the more storied rivalries in all of college football. With the first game being played all the way back in 1892, these two teams have been part of some of college football's most iconic moments.
Unfortunately, these moments have been few and far between as of late, given the Bulldogs have completely dominated the rivalry over the past few seasons. In the last 10 matchups, the Bulldogs currently have a 9-1 record and have won those nine games by an average score of 27-8.
Georgia's dominance over Auburn has also produced a six-game win streak for the Dawgs. The team's largest of the series since the late 1940s when the Bulldogs won nine games in a row from 1944-1952.
According to Action Network, the Bulldogs are currently 14.5-point favorites to defeat the Tigers. While entering the game on a lengthy win streak and being nearly a two-touchdown favorite should certainly give Georgia fans confidence, Bulldog fans should also remain cautious about Saturday's matchup, given that Georgia's last three losses to the Tigers have all come on the road.
