Georgia Remains No.1 in Latest AP Poll

After handling business in week two, the Georgia Bulldogs have earned the right to retain their top spot.

For the third straight week of the 2023 season, the Georgia Bulldogs are the top team in all of college football. According to the latest AP Poll, Kirby Smart and his team are unsurprisingly ranked as the No.1 in the country.

The ranking comes after the Bulldogs defeated the Ball State Cardinals by a score of 45-3 this past Saturday in Athens. Though the offense initially got off to a slow start. A 31-point second quarter aided by a handful of turnovers and a massive punt return allowed the Dawgs to take control of the game and dominate for the remaining time.

The Bulldogs will defend their No.1 ranking this Saturday when they open conference play against SEC East foe, the South Carolina Gamecocks. According to ESPN, Georgia currently has a 91.7% chance to win the game.

Some other big news occurred around college football during the week two matchups, with the biggest being Texas upsetting Alabama on the road, which helped boost their rankings. Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes earned yet another impressive win against Nebraska after defeating TCU in week one. Texas A&M was handed a loss by unranked Miami this weekend, and Ole Miss managed to pull out a win against Tulane in a top-25 matchup on the road.
