How Dylan Raiola Affects No. 1 Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith’s Recruitment
Dylan Raiola joined the Bulldogs recruiting class on May 15th as the team's second quarterback commitment in the recruiting cycle. But the addition of Raiola has turned some heads and brought speculation that he could bring Jeremiah Smith with him.
Raiola, the No.1 player in the nation was originally committed to playing football at Ohio State, much like Smith who is currently the No.2 player in the 2024 cycle. At one point, the Buckeyes once boasted both the No.1 and No.2 players committed to their class of 2024. However, this would not last long as Raiola's decommitment came just three days after Smith's commitment to the Buckeyes.
As of today, Smith is still committed to the Buckeyes but did mention in an interview that should Raiola commit to Georgia it would change some things. Now that Raiola has officially committed to UGA, Smith has been rather active on social media. The 5-star prospect even made some interesting Tweets during a conversation with Ny Carr earlier today.
Carr, a 4-star wide receiver, committed to play for the Bulldogs this past July. Since then has been doing his due diligence on the recruiting trail, Tweeting and encouraging other players to join him.
While flipping the No.1 and No.2 players in a recruiting class would be incredible for the Bulldogs, especially given their respective positions. It seems that Smith is to remain a Buckeye for now, but don't count out Kirby Smart and his recruit-flipping abilities.
