Kirby Smart Makes SEC History With Win Over UAB
The University of Georgia Bulldogs have defeated the UAB Blazers on Saturday night inside of Sanford Stadium, and with the win head coach Kirby Smart has eclipsed 100 football games, winning 86 of them. Saturday night's 86th win in 100 games makes Kirby Smart's start to his head coaching career the highest winning percentage through 100 games in conference history.
Smart was asked about the potential accomplishment this week during his press conference availability.
“I guess it’s a marker of some sorts of first 100. You know, I don’t know the significance of it outside that,” Smart said. “I wasn’t aware of that, but it’s one of those things if you do a good job and recruit good players and you have a good organization and good support, it allows you to make it to that number, you know? And certainly want to go out and play our best game at that mark.”
Smart's Bulldogs are now (4-0) and will go on their first road game of the season next week to take on the Auburn Tigers at 3:30 PM EST on CBS.
