Kirby Smart's Halftime Speech from South Carolina Game Revealed
When the Georgia Bulldogs went into the locker room down 14-3 at halftime of the South Carolina game, fans and experts began to voice their concerns as to whether or not the Bulldogs were going to emerge victorious. However, the Bulldogs responded with an impressive 21 unanswered points in the second half and finished the game with a 24-14 victory.
The team's drastically different second half led many to wonder, just what did head coach Kirby Smart say to his players at halftime. Well, thanks to a clip from SEC inside, Smart's locker room speech was revealed.
The clip begins with the Bulldogs sitting in the locker room during halftime as numerous coaches and players encourage each other to play together and "do your job." Then, Coach Smart begins to deliver his speech.
In the speech, Smart calls back to last year's matchup with the Missouri Tigers, where the team found itself in a similar situation trailing by two scores at half. The Bulldogs would also come back to win that game and would be eventually crowned back-to-back national champions.
Rather than giving his players a tongue lashing or shouting at them, Smart encourages his players and calls on them to not be outcome-focused but to "win one moment at a time." The clip has since gone viral on different social media platforms and has drawn praise from numerous college football fans. Once again cementing that Kirby Smart is one of the greatest motivators in all of sports.
