New Details Emerge Regarding Bear Alexander's Entrance into the Transfer Portal
Moments before Georgia's spring scrimmage last Saturday, the Bulldogs already had roster movement and action in the portal. Sophomore Bear Alexander announced via his Instagram that he has plans to enter the transfer portal. The transfer portal window opened back up on April 15th since it closed earlier in the offseason.
As a true freshman, Alexander tallied five solo tackles and two sacks as a reserve player in 2022. One of his sacks came against TCU in the national championship game. He flashed as a true freshman and looked to be a player that would be competing for snaps this next season, but Alexander will now be looking for a new home outside of Athens.
While Saturday's news came as a shock to many Georgia fans and media members, new details have emerged that Alexander's departure may have been in the works for quite some time.
According to 247Sports' Chris Hummer, the Bulldogs, and Alexander seemed to mutually agree to "part ways" after events leading up to his announcement. While there are speculations as to what said "events" were, the specifics of them remain unclear and likely won't be revealed anytime soon.
