ESPN Expert Says George Pickens "Much More Talented" Than Justin Jefferson
Georgia has a history of producing high-caliber NFL football players at a litany of positions. In recent years they've seen all-pros at multiple positions — Roquan Smith at Linebacker, Nick Chubb at running back, and offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.
Though one position they haven't seen "pro-bowl caliber" play at is the wide receiver position. That could be changing, however, with George Pickens.
Football fans who have been following Pickens since his days at The University of Georgia are already very familiar with the multitude of acrobatic catches that the receiver is capable of. During his rookie season with the Steelers, Pickens hauled in 52 catches for 801 yards and four touchdowns while "wowing" numerous NFL fans with his catching abilities. His successes in 2022 have led to many anticipating that the Steelers' receiver will have a massive 2023 season.
Now, he's turning heads in NFL training camp and preseason. ESPN's Ryan Clark went as far as to say he's "Much more talented than Justin Jefferson.
Jefferson is a three-time pro bowler, has won offensive player of the year, and will be the fastest receiver to 5,000 yards in NFL history this season when he crosses it over the mark this season, assuming he has to gain 175 yards in the first 5 games. To say that one is more talented than Jefferson is one thing, but to say someone will amount to his successes so far in the NFL... well, that's another discussion.
