Darnell Washington and More Former Bulldogs Showing Out In Debuts
Football is officially back, with the NFL season kicking off this weekend. It started this past Thursday night when the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20. This Sunday, though, many former Georgia Bulldogs make their debuts.
One of these players is Darnell Washington, who is making his debut against the San Fransico 49ers, which the 49ers handled the Steelers, defeating them 30-7. Although it is a lopsided game, Washington had a chance of his own to manhandle one of the NFL's top defensive ends, Nick Bosa.
Kearis Jackson is also making his NFL debut for the Tennessee Titans as a returner and has four returns for 37 total yards. Jalen Carter makes his debut for the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon against the New England Patriots, and Kelee Ringo could also make his debut this game. Kenny McIntosh could make his NFL debut for the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon against the Los Angeles Rams, who might play Warren McClendon and possibly Stetson Bennett if Matthew Stafford is taken out of the game.
Some other Bulldogs in action today is Roquan Smith for the Baltimore Ravens, and he finished the game with 16 total tackles and a sack. Justin Houston and the Carolina Panthers visited Lorenzo Carter, John Fitzpatrick, and the Atlanta Falcons. Houston finished the game with two tackles, while Carter had two of his own. Tyson Campbell, Travon Walker, and the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Colts, where Campbell came up with a big interception to help seal the game. George Pickens finished the day with five catches for 36 yards against the 49ers. Zamir White, Chris Smith, and the Raiders play the Broncos this afternoon, while Channing Tindall and Isaiah Wilson will travel to L.A. for the Dolphins to play the Chargers.
