Georgia Loses to FSU, Season Comes to an End

After having one of the best regular seasons in school history, the Dawgs lose in the Athens Regional for the second year in a row. The Dawgs blasted FAU 13-0 earlier in the day, but could not get anything going against Florida State.

After securing the #4 overall seed in the tournament, and earning the right to host, the Bulldogs failed to make it past the regional round for the second year in a row.

The day got started with the Dawgs shutting out the Florida Atlantic Owls 13-0.

The win over FAU put them in the regional championship against Florida State.

The team looked to pitcher Cole Wilcox to start the game, but the Seminoles' bats could not be stopped. Florida State would go for ten hits and put up ten runs. Bulldog pitchers gave up 7 walks as well.

Georgia's usually reliable defense did nothing to help the cause, either. They finished with a season-high of three errors.

All the Dawgs' miscues combined with cold hitting led to the eventual 10-1 loss at home, only the fifth loss at Foley Field in 2019.

The Georgia Bulldogs have been eliminated from the College Baseball Tournament, and the Florida State Seminoles will move on to the Super Regional Round.
