UGA Football: Why Isaiah Wilson's return is HUGE for Georgia's offense
When Solomon Kindley went down in the second quarter of last weekend's matchup against the Fighting Irish from Notre Dame, Isaiah Wilson returned to the lineup to play Right Tackle in the second half.
And what a job he did, as he stymied the pass rush from Notre Dame, helping to keep Jake Fromm clean on the night. The Bulldogs offensive line didn't allow a sack.
But Wilson's return doesn't just mean that UGA gets an All-SEC caliber tackle back, but it means Cade Mays can return to guard full-time, and if there's anything we've learned this season, it's that Cade Mays is the real deal at Guard.
Not to say Mays isn't capable of playing tackle because he certainly is, but I think he'd even admit his ceiling is at guard. The position that allows him to do what he does best, maul people and break their physical will.
Will the court see Exhibit A, please...
Wilson received an overall grade of 76.2 last season from the folks over at PFF.com and could easily be a draftable prospect at Tackle this offseason if he chooses to declare. His return is a major key for the Dawgs.
