Georgia Football: A Look at What's Left on the Plate for the Dawgs

The Georgia Bulldogs have the fifth toughest remaining schedule in all of college football. Here's a look at how they survive.

According to ESPN.com's football power index, the Georgia Bulldogs have the fifth toughest remaining schedule in all of college football. With the likes of Florida, Auburn, and Texas A&M left on the schedule, today we take a look at exactly what it's going to take to survive the remaining gauntlet.

#7 Florida

Win Projection: 61.5%

Georgia opened as a 5.5 point favorite in this matchup despite having played rather poorly in the last several weeks. Florida presents a handful of problems, Kyle Trask seemed to enter the lineup and provide a spark to the offense early in the season, and most Georgia fans would tell you they fear Trask more than Feleipe Franks.

On defense, the Gators get after the passer. Florida has 29.0 sacks on the season, and even if you remove the 10.0 sacks they got against Miami to open the season, they still have three more than Georgia.

Missouri

Win Projection: 83.6%

It would be easy for most fans to look over this matchup, especially considering the Tigers lost to Vanderbilt last weekend as a 25.0 point favorite. But, if there's one thing that frightens a defense that's having issues getting after the quarterback, it would be an offense like Missouri.

Say what you want about the Tigers on defense, they put up 448 yards per game on offense. That's good enough for 4th in the SEC. Georgia will have to avoid turnovers, control the time of possession and successfully play power football. Anything resembling a shoot out will favor the Tigers.

@ #9 Auburn

Win Projection: 40.7%

The world will find out a lot more about the Auburn Tigers today as they take on LSU in Baton Rouge, but win or lose, in my opinion, Auburn is by far the toughest remaining game on the schedule for one reason and one reason only.

That defensive line.

If you are going to approach the game of football with the mindset that your big people are going to beat their big people, you better have the best big people. That's the simplest way one could possibly go about explaining Kirby Smart's offensive mindset. I love Georgia's offensive line. In fact, few have spoken more highly of it. However, the Auburn defensive is better. Derrick Brown, Nick Coe, Marlon Davidson, and Big Cat Bryant will all play on Sunday's.

Texas A&M

Win Projection: 82.4%

Texas A&M has seen the Top-25 several times this season, and with winnable matchups against Mississippi State, UTSA, and South Carolina prior to this game in Athens, it's reasonable to assume they will be ranked by the time this game is underway between the hedges.

A&M brings with it a talented and veteran quarterback in Kellen Mond that won't exactly be rattled by the environment at Sanford Stadium. Georgia will certainly have to rely upon its defense in this matchup as well.

@Georgia Tech

Win Projection: 97.1%

So... You're saying there's a chance?
