Why 2023 Could be a Massive Year for Mykel Williams
Since his arrival at the University of Georgia, Kirby Smart has developed some outstanding talent at the edge rusher position. Players such as Lorenzo Carter, Azeez Ojulari, Travon Walker, and Nolan Smith have all left lasting marks on the Bulldogs program over the years.
But as the 2023 season approaches, it seems as though the Dawgs may have found their next star at the edge position. Rising sophomore Mykel Williams. A former 5-star recruit who has already made a fair share of big plays
In his freshman campaign, he helped the Bulldogs to their second straight national title victory during the 2022 season. Despite beginning the season as a role player, he led the team in sacks with 4.5 and made some massive plays towards the backend of the season after the team lost Nolan Smith to an injury that included sacks in both Georgia's Peach Bowl and national championship contests.
With holes to fill in the Bulldogs roster, and a full year of in-game experience under Williams' belt. It is likely that the Columbus, Georgia native could be in for a massive 2023 season with the Bulldogs
