2019 Georgia Football: Zamir White is on Track for a Big Season for UGA
We're now in the final stages of the offseason as Georgia's fall practice is underway. Fall practice is our first chance to take a look at the freshmen, especially those being counted on early in 2019. In this case, we get to see the #1 running back in the class of 2018 begin his process to take the field for Georgia this season
There's been a lot of concern with Zamir White regarding his injury, and if he will recover 100%. All signs are starting to point to him being exactly as advertised.
Through "Day 1" of practice, Zamir White went through drills without any knee brace of any kind.
While it is impressive to see him without a brace, it should be noted that the first few practices are usually "non-contact" settings.
However, check out how fast "Zeus" was making cuts and going through agility drills. To see him going all out in these drills should show Georgia fans that he's definitely on pace to make a full recovery.
Pretty much everyone around this Georgia Football program is excited to see Zamir White make his return to the field in 2019, including the players.
Starting running back, D'Andre Swift told the media, "I think everybody should be excited for him, we’re excited for him to see what he can get out there and do."
You can expect White to play a big role in the offense, and give Swift a breather every now and then.
Junior linebacker, Monty Rice stated, "I think in practice and this camp it’s going to show a lot what he has done and what he has overcome. We’re in for a show."
The love and support he's getting from his teammates will definitely add even more motivation for his return campaign.
The next step for White will be going through contact drills. The way he's practicing, he could find himself as the #2 option in the backfield for the Bulldogs in 2019.
