We haven't talked about Broderick Jones lately, the highlight commit in the 2020 recruiting class. Take a look at this dominant offensive tackle.

Broderick Jones's recruitment timeline has been a rather quiet and simple one. He's been committed to play for Georgia since April of 2018 and has gone on record saying it's not even really been close in terms of a race for his services. Though Jones grew up an Alabama fan, the love shown by Coach Pittman and the rest of the Georgia staff was overwhelming.

So, why haven't we talked very much about the 6'6" 295-pound tackle from Lithonia high? Part of that is because the young man himself is rather quiet it seems, but also because we all have been so focused on the next guy to commit instead of admiring the prize that's in the bag already.

Let's do a little admiring though huh? Starting with Jones's out of this world frame. Yea, he's 6'6", but he has abnormally long arms and room to pack on a rather considerable amount of weight if need be. I'm not saying he's ever going to play at 340 lbs like Isiah Wilson, but by God, if he wanted to, he's got the room to do so.

He's got an insane work ethic, spending his time playing both sides of the football for Lithonia High, and if you wanted to take him on as a Division 1 caliber defensive end, I wouldn't call you stupid. He plays with an incredibly high motor and even doubles as a tight end sometimes. Oh and he's a hooper too.

Jones believes he will come in and battle for a starting spot at one of the tackle positions, and even though his technique in pass protection is raw and will need some work, I'm not putting anything past this young man when it comes to his ceiling. I will say this though, Broderick is making the correct decision in picking UGA because I do believe Sam Pittman will make him a polished player and that's all it will take to make Jones a future NFL offensive tackle.

Here's a look at the caliber of player Broderick is:

It's clear that Sam Pittman and staff had pinned Broderick onto their radar very early. Jones spent the majority of his high school season playing Defensive End & Tight End. We look forward to seeing Broderick getting back to playing more a bit more offensive tackle this season as a senior a Lithonia.
