2020 UGA Recruiting Class: What Could be With RB Zachary Evans
I'm by no means breaking news when I tell you that gaining a commitment from the nation's #1 overall player, Zachary Evans, would be a game changer for this UGA program.
Hell, signing the #1 player is almost always a game changer for any program. But this would be something different for UGA in my opinion, if they sign the Texas native.
UGA's roster is littered with elite running back talent. And even though D'Andre Swift will be departing after this season, Zamir White, James Cook, and Kenny McIntosh will all still be in town.
If Kirby Smart and staff can manage to secure the commitment of such a highly touted recruit at a position that they are more than full at, I don't believe there is anything Kirby can't do in the recruiting game.
Evans narrowed his list down to five last week; Ohio State, Alabama, Georiga, Oklahoma, and LSU. What's surprising to see is that there are no Texas schools on his list, and when asked why he simply stated, "It’s just … you don’t know how to put it,” Evans told 247Sports as a part of a wide-ranging interview. “I don’t want to be disrespectful. I ain’t saying (Texas) can’t win a natty. It's just at the moment they ain't quite there yet"
Winning is clearly the main objective here with Evans and there's no reason Georgia should come up short in that category this season.
