David Daniel is the #2 ATH in the 2021 Class

No school in the country would mind securing a few commitments early into a cycle. Especially, when one of those commitments is from the #2 overall athlete in the 2021 class.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Football staff don't let fans down very often in recruiting, and David Daniel certainly lives up to the recent expectations.

Ranked as the #41 overall prospect in the country, and the 5th best player in the state of Georgia, Daniel adds momentum to the Bulldogs well-oiled recruiting machine.

Most recruits, or former recruits, can tell you how they felt when they knew which school to choose.

Daniel told Bulldog Maven, "I had my top list, but something in my gut told me UGA was home, and I had to go with my gut."

As highly rated of a prospect as Daniel is, schools like Alabama, Florida, Miami, and LSU pursued him and will continue to pursue him until he signs that letter of intent.

So, what made Georgia stick out amongst all the other elite schools?

"Every coach I spoke to was genuine through the process. Pretty much all of the schools recruiting me were, but my family and I feel at home every time we came to visit (Georgia)."

The "home" vibe that the University of Georgia creates seems to be a common trend in visits with most elite recruits. Combine the "at home" feeling with an elite defensive back coach like Charlton Warren, and you'll see more and more elite-level defensive backs jump on board like Georgia is experiencing.

Maybe the Florida Gators will begin to regret having Coach Warren leave Gainesville.

In addition to the constant rivalry between Georgia and Florida at the college level, there's also an ongoing debate on which state has the more competitive high school football.

Daniel, originally from South Florida, has played football in both states, so we went to him to end the madness.

Instead, he kept the debate ongoing

"There's definitely competition in both states, but I would say in Florida it was a little more fast-paced. But, the boys in Georgia definitely have some size."

Size or Speed? You take your pick.

Georgia now has two commitments in the 2021 class, both from guys that project to play safety at the next level.

At 6'2 185 lbs. and growing, Daniel brings some solid size to the table. The size and talent will give him a chance to play early on, which is needed with pending departures from J.R. Reed and Richard LeCounte III

While he waits to enroll at The University of Georgia, Daniel will do his part in bringing more elite players with him.

Daniel said, "I would love to get my boy Chief (Borders) out here."

Borders is an instate outside linebacker whose recruitment is on the rise.

Still very early into the cycle, Georgia is starting to build a very strong foundation with Braylyn Oliver and David Daniel on board. With the way Georgia's staff has recruited recently, Georgia should have no problem in securing a Top-3 finish in 2021.
